THE LAST DAY OF THE JODHPUR POLO CUP – ARENA POLO TROPHY WITNESSED CHANDNA/BENAZ POLO TEAM AND BSF POLO TEAM GO HEAD TO HEAD FOR THE TROPHY.

Jodhpur Polo Cup – Arena Polo kicked off at Maharaja Gaj Singh Sports Foundation Polo Ground, Jodhpur on 6th December 2018. The final of the 4-goal tournament played on 10th December between Chandna/Benaz and BSF Polo team, witnessed a one-sided battle between the teams. BSF played with a -3 handicap and were awarded a 1.5 point lead before the match. The umpire of the match was Kr. Yogeshwar Singh, Referee of the match was Kr. Vishwaraj Singh and the Commentator for the match was Kr. Dhwajraj Singh.

The team composition of the finals was as follows:

Chandna : Mr. Vinay Mewara -2, Mr. Lokendra Singh 0, Mr. Sunny Patel +1

Benaz BSF (Border Security Force)  HC Nasruden -2 , Kr. Ajitesh Singh -1, Maj. Narendra Kumar 0

The match started off with a quick goal from Mr Sunny Patel for Chandna/Benaz Polo team. The score was 1 – 1.5 after his goal. BSF couldn’t score a single goal in the first chukker. The first chukker was quite interesting as Chandna/Benaz completely dominated the chukker. Chandna/Benaz Polo team’s star player Mr Sunny Patel scored two back to back goals in the first chukker and helps the team get ahead. Sunny Patel scores 3 goals in the first chukker and the first chukker ends with Chandna/benaz leading by 3 – 1.5. Both the teams scored a goal each in the second chukker. Sunny Patel scored the only goal in the chukker for Chandna/benaz polo team. HC Nasruden scored the goal for BSF polo team. The second chukker didn’t see a lot of goals but it witnessed quite an intense action between the teams. The score was 4 – 2.5 with Chandna/benaz in the lead after the second chukker. The third chukker witnessed 6 goals divided 4 by Chandna/Benaz Polo team and 2 by BSF Polo team. 2 goals each from Lokendra Singh and Sunny Gupta brought Chandna/Benaz’s goal tally to 8 goals. A goal each from HC Nasruden and Kr. Ajitesh Singh helped BSF get close to Chandna/Benaz’s score. The score was 8 – 4.5 after the third chukker. Chandna/Benaz had a firm grip over the match by the third chukker and the fourth chukker saw something similar. 2 goals were scored in the last chukker. Both the goals came from Chandna/benaz’s side. Chandna Benaz captured the Jodhpur Polo Cup – Arena Polo (4 goals) after defeating BSF Polo team by 10 – 4.5 in the finals.
