Winning the tournament for the third time in a row, Team Cartier completed the hat trick. The 6-goaler Chris Hyde from England scored his team to victory; there was no way past him today. Hyde plays with a 9-goal arena handicap in England, making him one of the world’s best arena players. Chris Hyde, paired with a superb horse and displaying superior tactical skill, his Australian team captain Jonathan Munro Ford and the two English team mates Max Charlton and Jamie Morrison had but one aim—winning.

The meter of snow that fell ten days ago has been weighing heavily on the ice layer over the lake of St. Moritz and has pressed it into the underlying water. Water has risen to the surface despite the ice being of very good quality; structures that had already been put up ended up standing in slush and had to be dismantled again. Thanks to the low temperatures, the slush has since turned into ice—however, it has not yet been possible to take up construction work again all over the lake.
Former Greenkeeper, Mark Neale, has his work cut out maintaining over 50 hectares of grass at Beaufort Polo Club with just a staff of three. Polo is experiencing massive growth at present with a 47% increase in membership in the last five years at clubs across the country.

Part two of ‘Around the World in search of polo’ features highlights of tournaments to be played from May to August 2015. Opening play are some key matches in all polo calendars as the high goal season starts in the UK, with games in the Spanish Sotogrande sun hot on their heels in August.
A new year brings with it not only New Year’s Resolutions but also new polo tournaments and seasons around the World, with a variety of destinations holding matches in the upcoming weeks of January 2015, from high goal in Florida to snow polo on the lakes of St. Moritz, there is something for everyone who fancies a trip with polo to spectate included on the itinerary.
Following on from the 2014 event the Polo Instructors' and Players' Association (PIPA) have made their Snow Polo Championship Tour even bigger and better for their second year.
