Four teams to feature in this year’s edition
Players and ponies are ready to take part in the final polo event of the Dubai season. Taking place at SkyDive Dubai, four teams are set to battle it out for this year’s title. Defending champions Team Vista Jet Bombadier return to the event under the captaincy of Rashid Albwardy, while his brother Tariq heads Team Cadillac (Middle East). Also featuring on the team sheet are Team Autism Rocks and Team Lindt. The event kicks off on Friday 10 April, with the Finals scheduled to take place on Saturday 11 April.
Each team consists of three players, with the tournament attracting a selection of not only UAE players, but also individuals from Argentina, Switzerland and UK.
This year we welcome the 11th edition of the event, with it being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman, Dubai Sports Council.
At a pre-event press conference Sam Katiela, Managing & Creative Director, mamemo productions and founder & organiser of BPC Dubai said, “this year is a very special year for us as the event is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum and this means so much to us. His patronage is a confirmation that we can do these kind of events here in Dubai and that we have the infrastructure, technical skills, knowhow and most importantly, the will power to host such an extravagant sporting event that has gone global right here from Dubai.”
