Claiming back to back wins in the Silver Cup tournament, Phoenix emerged victorious against Hublot 6-5 during Tuesday’s game at Greenwich Polo Club.

As the first chukker got underway, Tomas Garcia del Rio and Matias Magrini each put a goal on the board for their respective teams. The first half of the game progressed slowly with only a single goal in the second for Hublot. Toro Ruiz took advantage of Marcos Garcia del Rio’s penalty 3 and converted it to tie the game 2-2 at the half.
Phoenix was able to double their score in the fourth after Magrini scored two consecutive goals, preventing Hublot from scoring yet again. Ruiz scored once more before Tomas Garcia del Rio finally broke the silence. Mike Davis stepped up for his team with the final goal of the chukker, Phoenix leading by 1 goal heading into the sixth. Ruiz made the winning shot that would put his team over the top. In a last attempt to catch his opponents, Davis converted Ruiz’s penalty 2 to end the chukker 6-5 in favor of Phoenix.
Hublot will take on Postage Stamp Farm on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., each ready to earn their first win of the tournament.
Undefeated Work To Ride – Los Machitos is headed to the finals against Phoenix this Sunday, July 16 to decide the champion of the 2017 Silver Cup.
