INAUGURAL MIDWEST OPEN PRESENTED BY PLANEMASTERS COMES TO CHICAGO AREA, BRINGING MORE POLO ACCESSIBILITY AND EXPOSURE TO THE PUBLIC

For centuries, polo has been known as the “Sport of Kings.” But this summer, organizers are focusing on both attracting some of the game’s crown jewels while reassuring spectators polo is a sport the average family will love and embrace. It is all part of the inaugural USPA-sanctioned Midwest Open, a chance to feature the sport locally and the one-of-a-kind place they’ll be playing.

For the first time in contemporary polo historyLas Brisas Polo Club in Elgin, Illinois, will host the Midwest Open. The vision is to bring players from all over the country to compete for a $50,000 purse and the prestigious trophy. This will be the highest level of play in the Midwest since 1979 and will feature exceptional polo ponies, world-class players and plenty of fans, who will all have the opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful places to watch the game.

“Our vision is to be the premier polo facility in the Midwest by providing a first-class experience for players, members, sponsors and spectators. This event will showcase both the sport’s untapped mass appeal and everything our grounds has to offer.”  – Larry Aschebrook, Founder, Las Brisas Polo Club
