Take your pick from Norfolk to Watergate Bay via Guards
There are plenty of playing and spectating options this weekend around the country. The Finals of The Archie David at Guards Polo Club, where a staggering 23 teams have competed in games, which began Saturday 5 June, will finish on Sunday 28 June. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup for the British Open also continues at Cowdray Park Polo Club, with games on both Saturday and Sunday. Click here to see how all the teams are progressing. Polo Times has also heard on the grapevine that this evening there will be a cricket match between Polo and Midhurst sponsored by Barbados Tourism at The Cowdray Park Estate.
If you are heading to the coast, you can still fulfill your polo fix with a trip to The GWR Polo on the Beach event at Watergate Bay. Sand polo shennanigans begin today, and games and entertainment continues until Sunday with Yoga, The Devil’s Horsemen stunt display team, introduction to polo demonstrations and much more. The fifth edition of The Norfolk Polo Festival, supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance, runs on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The event, at Norfolk Polo Club, includes free children’s entertainment, shopping and an afterparty on Saturday night. Gates open at 11.00am both days and polo starts at midday. Five matches per day and two tournaments to savour are scheduled for The Bar 11 Banger and The East Anglian Air Ambulance Counties Cup. Click here to find out more about the festival.
