Free Polo Admission For Save The Bay Coastal Cleanup Volunteers

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Newport Polo is pleased to partner with Save the Bay to support its Coastal Cleanup Campaign by offering free adult admission to September polo matches to Coastal Cleanup volunteers.

Save The Bay is seeking assistance from residents across Rhode Island as it resumes its annual role as organizer of the state’s participation in the International Coastal Cleanup effort this fall.

Individuals interested in participating in an ICC cleanup can explore all opportunities and register at http://bit.ly/2yNi0Fz.  To earn free polo match tickets, volunteers must redeem a Service Hour Letter at the entry gates to the polo grounds on game day, which Cleanup Leaders provide to volunteers upon request.

Remaining polo matches include the annual New England Pro-Am, sure to excite this Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at the Newport International Polo Series XXVIII, presented by Brahmin. The region’s polo professionals and top amateur players will go head to head in an action-packed match.

“The players savor every last chukker as the season comes to a close,” comments home team captain, Dan Keating.  “Everyone is at peak fitness from a highly competitive summer and the weather forecast shows ideal conditions for the match this Saturday.”

After 6 periods of play, called chukkers, the match will conclude with the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Toast & Trophy Presentation, as well as an autograph signing and Indian Summer Sundowners by the firepit at the Patio Bar with the players. The Commander J.B. Leavitt perpetual cup will be presented by Sarah Dale of Where Traveler Boston.

The polo grounds are located at historic Glen Farm, 250 Linden Lane, Portsmouth RI.  Tickets to the polo match and associated events are available online at www.nptpolo.com.

During the match, a weekly Door Prize drawing will award a Magnum of Veuve Clicquot Champagne to one lucky winner, and our contest for the Best Tailgate will reward a coveted prize and jumbotron moment of fame, courtesy of Stella Artois. Specialty vendors and concessionaires will be present in the Hospitality village at the polo grounds including the Davitt Pavilion & Patio Bar, Horseshoe Wine Bar, Veuve Clicquot Champagne Cart, Newport Polo Pro Shop, and several other unique specialty vendors and gourmet food truck concessionaires.
