Men’s and Women’s Polo Travel to Bluestone Farm on Sunday

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell polo teams will travel to Bluestone Farm in Hopewell, N.J. this weekend for what will be the first ever match between the two programs. Play in Hopewell will get under way on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1:00 p.m. Sunday marks the season opener for the men’s polo program, while the women will compete for the second time this season following a 16-13 loss at Skidmore last weekend.

Jed CoganGrant Feuer and James Riccio return to the men’s squad for the 2019-20 year, while the women’s program returns 19 members of its 2018-19 team. Highlighting the returners for Cornell women’s polo are all-region selections Shariah Harris and Rachel Booth.

Starting for the men are Cogan, Feuer, Patricio Fraga-Errecart and Pablo Herrera, with the women turning in a starting lineup of Harris, Anna Ullmann, Lea Jih-Viera, Jasmine Umrigar and Ingrid Donnan. Harris and Cogan will represent their respective teams as captains this season.

Head Coach Branden Van Loon’s programs are looking to build off solid campaigns in 2018-19 that featured both teams making an appearance in the national semi-finals. Van Loon led both programs to a combined 16-9 record last spring and enters his first full season as head coach in 2019-20.
