Morven Park’s Polo in the Park arrives this year on July 6.
The Saturday night series in Leesburg will run through Aug. 24, with gates opening at 6 p.m. each week. Each event features two arena polo matches, with the first starting at 7 p.m. and the second starting at 8:30 p.m.
More than 12,000 spectators took in the action last year, according to Morven Park officials.
Guests must purchase a car pass, which costs $35 online in advance or $40 at the gate. (The gatekeepers only accept cash.) Morven Park officials remind interested parties that car passes are only valid for one polo match. Anyone who Ubers to polo, rides a bike or is dropped off at the gates will still be required to pay a $40 admission fee at the gate to enter.
A cancellation decision due to inclement weather will be posted at PolointhePark.org by 4 p.m. on the day of a scheduled match. In the event of cancellation, car passes will be valid for the following week’s polo match, with all sales being final.
Polo guests are encouraged to picnic on the terraced viewing area next to the arena with their own food and drink, or snacks and beverages are also available for purchase on-site.
