SANDPOLO and Sandfest are the latest events to be cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The events, hosted annually in Sandbanks, was due to take place in July but will no longer be able to do so.
Sandpolo event director, Johnny Wheeler said: “We are eternally grateful to all of our supporters who have attended this wonderful event year on year and helped it go from strength to strength and we’d like to thank you all for your patience but it’s with great regret that we have to cancel this year in the best interests and safety of our ticket holders, staff and polo players.”
Sandfest founder, Ty Temel, added: “We are devastated we have to pull Sandfest year four and we’re forever grateful to everyone who comes along, it would be absolutely nothing without you.
“We waited to try and make it happen but it’s now out of our control. Tickets will be automatically rolled over to next year and we hope that you can join us on July 11, 2021 for what will be the best Sandfest line-up ever.
“Thank you again for your continued support.”
BCP Council has called a halt to all events happening in the region until the end of August in the wake of Covid-19, which is forcing events across the UK to cancel.
Councillor Vikki Slade, Leader of BCP Council, said: “Cancelling major events and festivals is a decision we don’t take lightly.
“The most important consideration is the health of our residents, and the safety of everyone involved including visitors, festival goers, exhibitors, traders, staff, contractors, and the many more who contribute and play a part in delivering those much-loved events.’’
Tickets for both Sandpolo and Sandfest will automatically roll over to next year for the new dates of July 9 and 10 for Sandpolo and July 11 for Sandfest.
