Santa Quiteria are the first winners of the 50th. Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande, following their 11-8 win against Cibao La Pampa, in the final of the medium goal Volvo Bronze Cup, that was played on ground 3 at Santa María Polo Club, on Friday July 30.
The match had two leveled first chukkas, but Santa Quiteria took off in the third, after three unanswered goals produced by the team’s highest rated player, Ignacio Negri. From then onwards, and despite Cibao La Pampa’s efforts, José Manuel y Gonzalo Entrecanales’ lineup seized the reins and took of the match control which ultimately led them to win the tournament undefeated,
Meanwhile, Dos Lunas La Hacienda and Marqués de Riscal will battle for the high goal Volvo Bronze Cup, on Saturday July 31. The match is due on ground 3 at Santa María Polo Club, at 7pm.
The 50th Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande sees twelve teams, split into two categories, compete. The high goal is for 18-20 goal teams, while the medium goal is for 12-14 goal teams.
