Open de France Engel & Völkers – Friday 9th September 2022
A QUARTER FINAL IN TRIBUTE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH II.
The sadness has obviously hit the polo world: HRH Elizabeth II was an avid horsewoman whose husband, son and grandson played (and still play for the latter), brilliantly polo. One of the major tournaments on the international circuit is named after her: the famous Queen’s Cup, which is played on her home turf in Windsor and was won in 2011 by the French team Talandracas (pictured), who are currently competing in the French Open.
One of the quarterfinals of the French Open will be played in tribute to Elizabeth II next Sunday and will be renamed Coupe de la Reine Elizabeth II.
