PARTICIPATE IN A RESEARCH STUDY ANALYZING INJURIES IN NORTH AMERICAN POLO PLAYERS

Third-year students Maguire Anuszewski and Dylan Bush of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, are conducting a research project that seeks to learn more about polo-related injuries. Combining their studies with a passion for the sport, both Anuszewski and Bush are active members of Brown University Polo Club. Their shared experience balancing medicine and polo inspired the study “An Analysis of Polo Injuries in North America,” which represents one of the first academic efforts to capture player-reported data on polo injuries.

Polo is a fast-paced, high-contact sport that carries unique risks. Despite its presence across North America, academic research on polo-related injuries and player health remains limited. “An Analysis of Polo Injuries in North America” seeks to close that gap by analyzing the injuries, demographics and experiences of polo players. The survey asks voluntary participants to share details about injuries they have sustained, when they occurred (preseason, early season, late season, postseason) and whether they happened in grass or arena polo. Insights will help identify patterns of injury and risk factors, with the goal of improving safety and awareness in the polo community.

The survey takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and voluntary. Participants may change the survey language to Spanish using the option in the upper right-hand corner. TAKE THE SURVEY NOW
