A unique sporting and social event is set to return to Poole’s Sandbanks this summer.
The world’s largest beach polo event, Sandpolo, is poised to celebrate its 18th anniversary on Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12.
The event, which is a highlight of the British summer calendar, promises two days of polo, entertainment and glamour.
Sandpolo, which blends beach polo with a festival atmosphere, is said to be growing in reputation each year.
The main event is the three-a-side polo matches, where international players compete in a fast-paced format.
These matches are preceded by the Daou Horse Stunt Riding Show, featuring elite riders performing routines on specially trained horses.
The popular pony vs. 4×4 showdown, which compares the speed of a polo pony with the power of a Mercedes-Benz off-roader in aid of charity, is set to return.
The event also offers a variety of meals and refreshments, including a three-course meal and afternoon tea.
Johnny Wheeler, founder of Sandpolo, said: “We always aim to deliver the best possible experience and each year we refine and adapt the event based on audience feedback.
“Our team is dedicated, and our loyal guests return year after year with their energy and smiles.”
