The second charity polo match will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Ghantoot Racing and Polo Club (GRPC), on Friday, October 30.
The match is between Ghantoot and Al Ahli Hospital, one of the main sponsors, who are sponsoring a polo team for the first time, with the two sides having both professional and local players.
The proceeds of the match will be donated to the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
The two charity matches will be followed by the season’s opening competition for the season, the sixth edition of The ADCB Pink Polo tournament, in November.
The event is set to draw the best polo players in the country, including Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who will be leading the ADCB Polo Team.
Saeed bin Houfan Al Mansouri, the Club’s Vice Chairman expressed his gratitude for the continuous support from the club chairman Sheikh Falah bin Zayed and the sponsors for their generous contributions towards charity events, starting with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council; the governing partner; ADCB, Department of Transport, The Galleria on Al Mariah Island, Forever Rose London; Al Ahalia Hospital; Paramount Dental Clinics; and Ghars Zayed who are handling the children’s entertainment and educational activities.
“With the backing of our Chairman and the sponsors, the sport has thrived in the UAE,” said Al Mansouri.
“The club is also keen to contribute to all humanitarian and charity events on the directives of the Club Chairman. We thank all those institutions that have come forward in supporting both the charity events and the tournaments over the years.”
