Teams Arrive in Baku for 4th Arena World Cup

Today, Thursday 8 September, teams were welcomed enthusiastically by members of the local and international press to the Hotel Badamar in Baku, Azerbaijan, in anticipation of the 4th Arena World Cup which begins in earnest tomorrow evening.

Defending champions Azerbaijan will compete against teams from Switzerland, Spain and Argentina for the World Cup, which will be played over three days from Friday 9 September to Sunday 11 September. The World Cup is being held at the Elite Horse & Polo Club in Baku.
With the iconic Badrutt’s Palace from St Mortiz providing the VIP hospitality, the event is anticipated to draw large crowds. Similarly, CBC Sport are broadcasting the polo live from Azerbaijan which has created large amounts of interest in the increasingly popular sport from the Azeri people.
Tomorrow, local favourites, Gilan Holding (Azerbaijan) will take on Italdizian Group (Argentina) in the first game. The second game will be played between Badrutt’s Palace (St Moritz) and Bogner (Spain).
