Cowdray Vikings defeated La Vanguardia by a 10-6 score and captured the 16-goal La VI La Aguada Guards Polo Trophy, following the final that was played today at La Aguada Polo Club, in Open Door, Argentina.
The Subsidiary went to Conosco, who took a narrow 6-5 win over SHP.
Jeremy Pemberton took MVP honors, and the Fair Play Award went to Willem Melchior.
The La Aguada Guards Polo Trophy, already one of the most celebrated tournaments of the polo season in Argentina, had four teams featuring members of Guards Polo Club. It marks the strong partnership between La Aguada Polo Club and Guards Polo Club. Within the Great Park at Windsor, Guards is set in the outstanding natural surroundings of Smith’s Lawn, and has been founded in 1955 by HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, husband to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Guards Polo Club is renowned as one of the most prestigious and stylish clubs in England and Europe, and the home of The Queen’s Cup, one of the biggest tournaments worldwide that attracts top polo players every year. HM The Queen first presented the trophy to the club in 1960 and attends the final day to present the trophy to the winners.
