Inaugural Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo & White Party

nic-roldan-sunset-polo-white-party-2016On the field, impressive 8-goal American polo player Nic Roldan is known as a force to be reckoned with. Off the field, he focuses his time on giving back to the animals he values, working as one of Brooke USA’s foremost Ambassadors both nationally and abroad. Only three months into his ambassadorship for the non-profit organization, Roldan is taking strides to increase awareness of the condition of working horses, donkeys, mules and the people who rely on them in some of the world’s most destitute countries. On Friday, 25 March 2016, the Inaugural Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo & White Party, benefitting Brooke USA, will take place at The Wanderers Club in Wellington, Florida.

Brooke USA supports the overseas work of the Brooke, the largest international equine welfare charity with a long track record of successfully improving the lives of working horses, donkeys, and mules in impoverished regions of the globe. The Brooke has been providing sustainable solutions to many equine welfare issues for over 80 years. Last year alone, the Brooke reached 1.8 million equines, benefiting 10 million people in countries where many people earn less than a dollar a day.

Due to the generosity of Equestrian Sport Productions’ Mark and Katherine Bellissimo, the inaugural event will be one for the books. As the new proprietors of the popular country club, the Bellissimos will host the event, taking the Argentinean-themed asado (barbeque) and polo match to a new level with a live and silent auction, a pool side “White Party” and a fully stocked bar.

The night will kick off with a six-bar competition held on the back field of The Wanderer’s Club, with the event starting at 5:30 p.m., and shortly after, an exciting polo match with some of the sport’s most prevalent names will face off in an exhibition match that will have the guests on their feet.

“I am really excited about this event we have put together to benefit Brooke USA, because we are trying to bring together all equestrian disciplines to create awareness on issues that everyone in the equine industry will take to heart,” Roldan said. “I hope as many people as possible will come out and support, and I hope that this will become an annual highlight of the Wellington season. Let’s show that people in the ‘horse county’ truly care for equines who find themselves in such trying circumstances and in turn help their owners, too.”
