2017 marks a new era for polo in Wellington, as IPC was purchased at the end of the 2016 season by a new partnership headed by Mark Bellissimo. Players and spectators will enjoy an enhanced polo experience this season, with 17 weeks of high-goal polo. Major improvements have been made to the entire venue, including extensive upgrades to the Engel & Völkers stadium field and the Pavilion.
“We are excited to offer the community an unparalleled polo and social experience that will be far beyond what Wellington has seen in the past,” said Bellissimo. “Our team has created amazing features and special activities that will make IPC the go-to venue on Sundays.”
Returning this year will be the Pavilion Brunch in the newly renovated Pavilion, along with an expanded Coco Polo Lounge. With a fun atmosphere and prime sideline view of the match, the Pavilion is a prime ticket to the action. Sponsored by Ketel One Vodka, the Ketel Kitchen debuts this year with specialty drinks, refreshments and a seating area. The Veuve Clicquot Champagne Garden will offer a relaxing setting open to the public.
IPC invites the whole family to come out for Opening Day. Free this year, the Kids’ Fun Zone gives children a chance to enjoy themselves while the match is going on. Every week, new activities such as face painting, crafts, bounce houses and more are open to children from ages 5 to 10. On Opening Day, SuperCars will bring 30 exotic cars to display around the Pavilion, and the Palm Beach Opera will perform the National Anthem.
