Ready for Arena?

Entries open and rule changes

Entry forms for the HPA Christmas National Club Championships at The Royal County of Berkshire Club are now available. HPA National Club Championships 1-3 Goal and 10-12 Goal will be held from 12 – 27 November. Click here to contact the Polo Office for an entry form and information for spectators.

There will be three sets of tournaments for the 2016-17 arena season with an additional date at Westcroft Park Polo Club from 2 – 11 December for teams between 5-8 goals. This new tournament is also part of the first ever arena Victor Ludorum series. The HPA New Year Nationals will also be held at the RCBPC on 6 – 22 January for two team brackets 4-6 and 13-15 goal.

There have also been a few changes in the arena rules which appear in the latest HPA Arena Year Book, which is due for distribution next week. They include new wording for the definition of Precedence and the Right of Way have been re-written in Rules 11 & 12. Major changes have been made to penalties 7 and 8 in Rule 9 regarding the use of the Sin Bin and the umpires’ powers to send players off. The handicap brackets for individual handicap levels have also been amended. All of these changes will be covered in the forthcoming November issue, which is due out next week, in an in depth feature which looks at the UK arena season. Not a subscriber?
