Audi Polo Team, Dubai and Lucchese Top the Division Tables
The contest for the 26 goal Piaget USPA Gold Cup® Polo Tournament title is well underway at the International Polo Club, Palm Beach with two thirds of the initial league games now completed. In Bracket 1 the top spot is currently tied between Dubai and Lucchese who have both won two games each, leaving Orchard Hill and White Birch miles behind with double losses. Adolfo Cambiaso has had a good run so far, almost topping the top scorer leader board with a total of 12 goals so far, but Sapo Caset has beaten him to it by 2 goals.
In Bracket 2, the leader looks a lot clearer with Audi Polo Team steaming ahead with two wins to top the table, whilst Coca Cola and Flexjet have only managed a win each leaving Valiente trailing. On Thursday 17 March all the teams will play their final league games before the tournament splits for the Tesaro Cup and the Piaget USPA Gold Cup®. The third game of the day will be critical for Bracket 2 teams as Dubai faces Lucchese for the winner of their division. Marc Ganzi, who currently shares the top patron goal scorer spot with Coca Cola’s Gillian Johnston on 4 goals each, and his Audi Polo Team have been drawn against Flexjet for their final league game. If Melissa Ganzi’s Flexjet team win it will be down to goal difference to decide who will top Bracket 2, tense times for both Marc and Melissa Ganzi. The Finals for both cups are scheduled for Sunday 27 March. For full team lists and scores so far please click here.
