VALIENTE WON AND WILL MEET ORCHARD HILL IN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Valiente took an impressive 12-3 win over Coca Cola, and will play the championship game of the 26-goal CV Whitney Cup, the first tournament of the American Triple Crown, that is being played at International Polo Club Palm Beach.
Valiente dominated the match and the scoreboard very easily. They kicked off with an early 2-0 lead, with goals by Diego Cavanagh. They increased the pressure in the second chukker, to widen their advantage to 5-1. Julian de Lusarreta scored Coca Cola’s first goal.
The Coca Cola foursome seemed overwhelmed by Valiente’s powerful dominance, as well as they failed to score on several occasions. By half time, Valiente had reach a commanding 7-1 lead, following goals by Adolfo Cambiaso and Matías Torres Zavaleta.
Led by a fantastic performance by MVP Diego Cavanagh, and playing fast, open polo, Valiente had no trouble at all to extend their leadership chukker after chukker. With only one chukker remaining, Valiente was 9-2 up.
Although the match was almost decided, Adolfo Cambiaso produced a couple of goals to seal Valiente’s win. As a result, the Jornayvaz team will play the final game of the CV Whitney Cup against title holders, Orchard Hill, next Sunday.
