The ponies were real, but everything else at Hamptons Polo was off — from the small soccer balls the players used to the shrunken field on which they galloped, which was about half the size of a real polo grounds.
“The Arrangement” actress Christine Evangelista, who hosted the match at the Southampton Hunt & Polo Club on Saturday, couldn’t even present the glass trophy (from Porsche and Social Life magazine) to the winners because it had been smashed in transit.

“Polo is not the same since Peter Brant and I stopped playing,” former team owner Neil Hirsch said.
Still, the Hamptons crowd — with its limited attention span and unlimited thirst for Perrier-Jouët Champagne — had fun, not knowing that each team is supposed to have four players, not three.
“It was more a demonstration of polo than a real match,” said one organizer.
The crowd included cosmetics mogul Peter Thomas Roth, dermatologist Dr. Kenneth Mark and Ms. World Elite 2017 Lidia Szczepanowski.
