CELEBRATIONS FOR PULL LOVE AND LIONS
The International Polo Cup, one of the highlights of the season at the cote d’azur, came to an end this Sunday at a packed Polo Club de Saint Tropez. A full day of polo and entertainment, live shows and a fantastic cocktail and dinner by Restaurant Polo 1999, marked the end together with the traditional Sunday Polo Party.
The day opened with the 12-15 goals category final between Pull Love and Marquard Media. It wasn’t just another ordinary final for the italians, as in 2016 the team was beaten in the last match. Although this has been a great season for the team, with an impressive level shown in each match. Despite the good performance in defense of Tete Storni and Pablo Bolanterio for Marquard Media, the team could not catch the fantastic plays of Flaco Garcia Grossi, who showed once more that he is a top player.
Already in the last chukker, leading by 2 goals and scoring three more in a row, the italians left no chance for Thomas Rinderknecht’ foursome and claimed the 15-goal IPC title. An awesome summer for Andrea Moretti who also won the Grisogono Polo Masters at Villa a Sesta in June.
BPP: Borren El Tano, played and owned by Juan Agustín García Grossi.
Score Pull Love: 3-1, 5-3, 6-4, 8-6, 11-8.

After the win of Pull Love, it was the turn of the 8-10 goals category final game between two powerful teams: Lions and St. Tropez. Corinne Schuler’s (who was replaced by Wilf Fine) team started with the right foot scoring 2.5 over 0. But from there on, Pierre Beylat’s foursome took control of the game going into halftime by 4 to 3.5.
It was a tight game until fourth chukker when Guillermo Li opened the gap and Lions took the lead to win the game with a difference of 1.5 goals.
BPP: Lady Di, played and owned by Guillermo Li.
Score Lions Polo Team: (0-0.5) 0-2.5, 4-3.5, 6-5.5, 8-6.5.

The activity at the Polo Club de Saint Tropez will resume on Thursday with the kick off of the Polo Masters/Open de Gassin. The tournament will feature 14 teams: 8 of them will participate in the 8-10 goals category and the other 6 will do it in the 12-15 category.
