The Joe Barry Cup, second competition of teh 20-goal season that currently takes place at International Polo Club Palm Beach, is due to start on Wednesday January 4.
The recent winner of the Herbie Pennell Cup, Villa del Lago will be among the eight participating teams, broken down into two brackets.
Villa del Lago will play the opening match against La Indiana, at 12pm. Next up, Mt. Brilliant will face Tonkawa, at 3pm.
The final of the Joe Barry Cup will be played on Sunday January 22.
Hilario Ulloa, winner of the Herbie Pennell Cup last weekend playing for Villa del Lago, stated: “It’s a great satisfaction having won the title with Villa del Lago. We reached this final having lost two others in a row, and fortunately we started winning, we started the season with the right foot, and I’m also really happy that we have a competitive team for each of the tournaments”.
The argentine 10-goaler also said: “Surely having played one more game in this moment of the season helps a lot because you can check the performances of the horses, see how they are, you also get to know better with your teammates. I think we are a very even team, we complement with each other really well, everyone attacks and everyone defends”.
