The Polo Training Foundation (PTF) College Fair is scheduled for 10:00am ET Saturday September 23 at Meadowbrook Polo Club in Old Westbury, New York, with an arena game at Country Farms Polo Club in Medford, New York, starting at 2:00pm ET.
The College Fair is designed to replicate a job fair. The PTF brings 8-10 college polo coaches together in one location so that future collegiate players can learn about each school and the differences in their polo programs. Coaches are set up at tables so that students and parents can talk one-on-one with each of the coaches. Each year, the PTF tries to bring in a wide variety of colleges with polo programs so that prospective students can have access to as many different choices as possible. This year, Colorado State, UCONN, Cornell, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, UVA, Yale will be among the many colleges represented at the event.
Following the College Fair, a College Fair Arena Game will be hosted at Country Farms Polo Club. The College Fair is free and open to everyone, while the game has an entry fee of $100 (for 4 chukkers). Rental horses are organized for the players at a rate of $150 per chukker for those that need horses.
The PTF is currently finalizing a College Fair this fall on the west coast in Santa Barbara with a stronger emphasis on west coast colleges.
