Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club celebrates Sir Winston Churchill’s passion for polo this Friday, December 8th, 2017 alongside our special guests, his grandson, George John Godolphin Spencer Churchill, the Marquess of Blandford and British Ambassador, HE Philipp Parham.
Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club is hosting the Sir Winston Churchill Cup, set in our luxury equestrian resort in the heart of Dubailand. With the cup already off to a good start, we opened with Habtoor Polo vs Habtoor wolves, with Habtoor Polo walking away winners, scoring 8 – 6.5.
The second match saw the Kuwait Polo team play against Mahra Polo team in a fast-paced game with fierce competition. Mahra Polo, victor of the match, scored 7-6.
The cup finale is not only for polo enthusiasts but is also an all-day-fun-day venue for families and friends. There will be activities such as magicians, face painting, henna art and raffles – keeping the little ones entertained all day. Delicious food from our prestigious St Regis food truck will be on standby in case you forget to pack your picnic basket, and the internationally awarded Caffè Di Artisan will be serving their exquisite coffees.
Mohammed K. Al Habtoor, CEO and Vice Chairman of Al Habtoor Group said: “We are really excited to be hosting George John Godolphin Spencer Churchill and HE Philipp Parham this coming Friday. This is the second Sir Winston Churchill Cup here in Dubai, and it is our pleasure to celebrate Sir Winston with a member of his family.”
The event, sponsored by AHK UAE International, a full-scope turnkey construction, fit-out and FF&E solution provider to the hospitality sector, will open its doors to the public, Friday afternoon from 1:00pm.
