Quickly converting Manheim’s penalty four, Toro Ruiz made the second goal which was answered by Mariano Aguerre. Goal for goal, both teams played an impressive chukker, adding three goals each to their tallies. Still trailing by two, Work To Ride played rough in the second as penalties began to add up on both sides. Mariano Gonzalez made a penalty three conversion and was met by a goal from Matias Magrini. A final goal from Gonzalez made up some ground, ending the chukker 6-5. Work To Ride made their strongest plays yet in the third, adding two goals back to back. The competition was fierce and penalties continued to rain down, but Ruiz was able to convert Gonzalez’s penalty three before Nick Manifold’s final goal ended the half 8-7 in favor of Work To Ride.

The action slowed significantly in the second half and Phoenix’s theme of one goal per chukker persisted throughout the game. Boccanfuso scored first in the fourth and was followed by a goal each from Manifold and Gonzalez. With a strong defensive strategy in the fifth, Phoenix prevented all attempts for the ball to successfully pass between their goal posts. Ruiz tied up the game in the final chukker, but Gonzalez’s final goal brought it home for Work To Ride 11-10.

Hublot will play Postage Stamp Farm on Friday, July 7th at 11 a.m. in game three.
