Argentine Open Rescheduled

Tournament will begin this Saturday

After nearly 150mm of rain fell between Saturday 10 November and Tuesday 13 November, the G20 event and Copa Libertadores Final could not be played and therefore the AAP had to make the knock on decision to reschedule the start of The Argentine Open.

After this initial delay, the AAP have now announced that The 125th Argentine Open, which will see 10 teams compete in two zones, will begin this weekend with matches being played on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday 17 November, the Zone A matches will begin at 2pm (local time) with Alegria-La Irenita vs La Ensenada, followed at 4.30pm (local time) by La Aguada vs La Dolfina Polo Ranch. La Aguada’s line-up will see a slight alteration, with Alejandro Muzzio replacing an injured Miguel Novillo Astrada.

The Zone B matches will begin on Sunday 18 November, with La Albertina Abu Dhabi vs La Cañada on Field 1 and La Monjitas vs Cría Yatay will play on Field 2.

La Dolfina and Ellerstina have a ‘free pass’ to the opening matches. The Final is still currently scheduled for Saturday 15 December.

The AAP have also announced that all food at the Argentine Open will be able to be purchased using a cashless card, which will also enable users to join the polo community programme. The programme aims to unite and connect the polo community as well as offering exclusive benefits. The programme will be divided into two categories – Players and Members – once you have your cashless card you can be part of the programme by clicking here.
