FIP UMPIRE’S SEMINAR TO BE HELD IN KUALA LUMPUR

The Federation of International Polo will run an umpire’s seminar in Kuala Lumpur on 8th and 9th September.  The course presenters are Daniel Boudou and Juan Jose Diaz Alberdi, both from Argentina.  Both are professional umpires with considerable experience and international repute.  Daniel Boudou holds the record of having umpired the Argentine Open Final on no less than 15 occasions.   Participants will get a chance to work with them as officials in the RMPA International League Final, a 12-goal tournament that will be played at that time.

The two day seminar will be held at the Royal Selangor Polo Club.  It will coincide with games at the RMPA International League Final, a 13-goal tournament.

The seminar will feature:

  • Changes to the rules and new interpretations of the rules.
  • Refereeing and game officiating.
  • Video analysis of games.
  • Stewarding and horse welfare

The schedule is as follows:

The cost of the seminar is USD$100 per participant, payable to the “Royal Malaysian Polo Association”.  This fee includes meals at the welcome dinner, lunch at the Royal Selangor Polo Club on both days of the seminar, and the farewell asado.

While visiting participants must find their accommodation, we recommend staying at the MiCasa All Suite Hotel, which is suitably located near the Royal Selangor Polo Club, where the matches will be held.  RMPA’s rate for this hotel is MYR363.20 per night, inclusive of breakfast.  The welcome dinner on Friday 7th September will be held at this hotel.  It is also the official hotel of the tournament, so many of the teams playing in the tournament will be staying at there.  Please contact Ms Natasha Malik, Director of Sales and Marketing, at doskul@micasahotel.com to make your bookings.
