The semifinals of the USPA Gold Cup, second leg of the Gauntlet of Polo, were finally played on Friday at the International Polo Club Palm Beach. With the very same final score (9-8), Aspen and Pilot beat Daily Racing Form and Equuleus, respectively, and qualified to the final, which will take place next Monday at 3pm at IPC’s field 1.
It’s worth remembering that the winner of the tournament will earn a prize of $125,000. On the other hand, Pilot won the CV Whitney Cup a couple of weeks ago, so not only they remain unbeaten in the Gauntlet of Polo so far but they are also the only team with chances of winning the whole prize of 1 million dollars in case they win the three tournaments (CV Whitney, USPA Gold Cup and the US Open Polo Championship, which will be kicking off next Wednesday).
