Colorado Take The Final Title

Triple Crown of Polo Final

The inaugural World Polo League came to an end on Sunday 14 April, with the Final of The Triple Crown of Polo between Audi and Colorado. As with other Clubs in the area, the afternoon began with downpours which threatened to delay the Final, however a break in the rain and a beautiful rainbow appearing over the field at Grand Champions Polo Club saw the anticipated Final begin. The match was hotly contested between the two teams, both eager to take the top title. However, in the end it was Colorado who managed to take the win with a narrow, but ultimately victorious, 9-8 final score. After the Final, the presentations took place. Colorado’s Adolfo Cambiaso was named Most Valuable Player and Dolfina Gata, played by Cambiaso and owned by J5Equestrian was awarded GCPC Best Playing Pony. Audi’s Pablo Mac Donough cleaned up in the Best Playing Pony awards, receiving three in total; the APHA Best Playing Pony of the Triple Crown of Polo – Irenita Pizza, APHA Best Playing Pony of Final – Irenita Rodizio and Best Polo Argentino of Final – Irenita Subaru, all of which were owned and played by Pablo Mac Donough.

The day before, The US Trust Cup had been played for the Subsidiary Final, with WPL defeating Alegria, 14-10. A full report will follow in the next issue of Polo Times.
