At the end of July, an appointment with the Polo Arena in Porto Cervo-Arzachena
After the experience of Villa Borghese in Rome and the fascinating version on snow in Cortina d’Ampezzo , the pole relaunches and broadens its horizons to Sardinia .
The new entry in the project of the lucky circuit that Italia Polo Challenge is creating in partnership with the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports and local institutions is of great effect because it is hosted in one of the most celebrated territories of the island, that of the municipality of Arzachena with its Costa Smeralda . The host of the tournament (21-24 July) will in fact be the sports field of Abbiadori, in the immediate hinterland of Porto Cervo.
The facility will literally change its look: stables for a hundred horses , the terrain of the football field revisited to best accommodate this spectacular equestrian discipline in the polo arena version, free stands for fans and an elegant and welcoming hospitality village with many stands , catering and live music. All in the name of great sport and glamor in full harmony.
“Sardinia boasts a great tradition in equestrian sports. We are excited to rekindle it in style thanks to the prestigious Italia Polo Challenge circuit, which we host until 2023 in partnership with the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports – declares Roberto Ragnedda , mayor of the Municipality of Arzachena -. Next to Cortina and Rome, there could only be the village of Porto Cervo and the magnificent territory of Arzachena among the best playgrounds selected for the competition. We are looking forward to welcoming the international players, the splendid horses, the staff and, we sincerely hope, also the public ”.
The multi-year agreement that marks the long-awaited return of polo to Sardinia was recently signed with the Mayor of Arzachena, FISE, the Organizing Committee (PMP Polo SRL, President Paolo Riccardi ), and the Event Manager of Italia Polo Challenge. , the Argentine player Patricio Rattagan .
The event will take place over three days of competitions, with three matches a day at night, which will involve seven international teams made up of 3 players each, of the highest technical level. The spotlight will make the appointment even more suggestive. The tournament will be presented by a parade of horses & players through the streets of Arzachena and Porto Cervo, accompanied by the notes of the Band of the Sassari Brigade of the Italian Army.
