The 50th Anniversary of the Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande continued on Tuesday July 27, with the opening day of the high goal Volvo Bronze Cup, that saw two games played at Santa María Polo Club. In the first match, held on ground 2, Marqués de Riscal made a remarkable debut and defeated Ayala by an impressive 14-6.
In the second contest, played on ground 3, BP Polo, with Adolfo Cambiaso’s return to Sotogrande after five years, claimed a 11-7 win against BN Polo. The latter’s captain, Babar Nassem, is playing high goal for the first time ever.
The 50 Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande see twelve teams split in two categories: High Goal (18-20 goal) and Medium Goal (12-14 goal), compete.
The tournament will resume on a Wednesday, with a busy medium goal Volvo Bronze Cup, that will include three games. Early in the morning, Ayala Polo Club will host Nairobi vs. Cibao La Pampa. The two remaining matches will take place at Dos Lunas: John Smith/Ayala vs. Hodro Polo Team, and ATL Marine & Energy vs. Santa Quiteria.
