The ressumption of the last quarter final match of the US Polo Open Championship, between Pilot and Aspen-Dutta Corp, took place on Monday April 12, at 4pm. The contest has been postponed on Sunday with 2m 50sec in the first chukka, on Sunday, due to a thunderstorm.
Pilot earned the last spot in semifinals following a 12-11 win against Aspen-Dutta Corp. The US Open Polo Championship, the most prestigious polo tournament in the United States, that sees nine teams, up to 22-goals, compete. It’s worth noting that the 2020 edition was suspended due to the pandemic, meaning that Pilot are still the defending champions, having taken the title in 2019.
The title holders dominated the game from the second chukka onwards, until they reached a commanding 11-6 lead in the fifith chukka. But Aspen-Dutta Corp made a strong comeback in the last chukka, and outscored Pilot 5-1. But luck was not on their side, and at the end of the day the efforts didn’t pay off.
Therefore, the semifinals of the US Open Championship will be played on Thursday April 15, with the following order of play:
11am: Pilot vs. Scone
4pm: La Indiana vs. Park Place
