Park Place vs Great Oaks Les Lions & La Magdeleine vs Park Place Vaara
Whilst the rest of the UK was celebrating the Platinum Jubilee over the weekend, things were hotting up on the field at Guards Polo Club for The Cartier Queen’s Cup’s Quarter Finals. The action began on Saturday 4 June with a super close 16-15 win for Park Place against Dubai, securing the first spot in the Semi Finals, whilst the second match was again closely fought with Great Oaks LL defeating UAE 12-10 on The Prince’s Ground for The Platinum Jubilee Trophy, especially created by Guards Polo Club to honour HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.With two spots remaining for Wednesday’s Cartier Queen’s Cup Semi Finals still up for grabs, an undefeated Scone Polo began Sunday’s action at Zacara against La Magdeleine who had so far notched up a two win, two loss tally so far in the tournament.
The result saw La Magdeleine’s skill in open play result in an 11-8 victory for La Magdeleine. With one of Andrey Brorodin’s Park Place teams already in the Semi Finals, his second team, Park Place Vaara were looking to claim the last remaining spot in a match against King Power on the Duke’s Ground; Park Place Vaara produced some strong defensive play to secure a hard-fought, 11-9 victory.The Semi Finals will be played on Wednesday 8 June with Park Place vs Great Oaks LL at 12pm and La Magdeleine vs Park Place Vaara at 4pm.
