CPC,TYPC ease into State polo quarterfinals

Both Chingkheihunba Polo Club and Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club faced little resistance on their way to the quarterfinals of the 36th N Hazari & Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2022 .

Chingkheihunba Polo Club strolled to a 13-3 win over Thoubal District Polo Association in their pre-quarterfmal encounter.

Th Kaoba and O Rozer led their team, racking up four goals each.

Chingkheihunba PC jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first chukker with both Kaoba and L Thomson on target.

They were unstoppable in the next chukker as they dished out a five-goal barrage against their Thoubal opponents.

Rozer shone with a treble while Kaoba and Th Basanta got a goal each.

In the third chukker, Chingkheihunba PC collected two more goals courtesy of a double from Basanta as Thoubal reduced the arrears with a treble from S Naoba.

The Chingkheihunba riders then closed out the game in style by pumping in four goals in the fourth chukker, with Kaoba scoring a double and Thomson and Rozer adding one goal apiece.

Earlier, Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club ensured their place in the last eight with a comfortable 10-5 triumph against Imphal Riding Club-B.S Bonbon struck in four goals while Th Nongpoknganba and S Saolin contributed three goals each in their side’s win as Vikter’s four-goal haul for IRC-B went in vain.

With the result, Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club set up a quarterfinal clash against Chingkheihunba Polo Club.
