Dick “Remo” Riemenschneider

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dick “Remo” Riemenschneider.
An early member of Virginia Polo, he arrived in 1955 and remained a devoted supporter, lead fundraiser, and essential driving force at Virginia Polo for the last 68 years.
Pivotal in securing the land for the Virginia Polo Center and the 501-c-3 non-profit status of the club, Dick has been one of the most important people in shaping the thriving club we enjoy today. He was instrumental in creating the Virginia Polo Endowment Fund to ensure the program will continue to be supported into the future for the next generation of players.
Always leading by example, he encouraged other alumni to remain involved and supportive of the club. He leaves a legacy in terms of those he mentored.
The scope of his contributions to the program cannot be overestimated. His expertise, loyalty, and passion for all things Virginia Polo will be greatly missed.
Memorial services for Dick will be held Monday October 3rd at 11:30 at Trinity Church in Upperville, Virginia. The service will be held outside unless there is inclement weather. All who wish to attend are welcome.
