As the new year quickly approaches, Port Mayaca Polo Club (PMPC) in Okeechobee, Florida, prepares to welcome some of the world’s most talented players for the 2023 season. Boasting a wide array of tournaments from 8-goal to 24-goal, now is the perfect time to begin planning your season. The crown jewel of the Port Mayaca Polo Club calendar, the U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship, will serve as the marquee event. First played as a USPA-Sanctioned tournament in 1990, the competition is the most prestigious women’s tournament in the United States.
Serving as the host site of the U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship for the fifth consecutive year, Port Mayaca Polo Club is situated in South Florida, surrounded by vast sugar cane fields and the popular fishing body of Lake Okeechobee. The club has steadily become a destination for winter polo. Located on more than 600 sprawling acres, the club has eight regulation fields, club barns with 220 stalls, an exercise track, a stick-and-ball field, a clubhouse and several acres of pastures for turnout and trail riding.
The final of the elite competition will be played on the National Polo Center – Wellington’s U.S. Polo Assn Field One on Sunday, March 19. Team submissions are currently being accepted until Thursday, December 15, so don’t miss your chance to showcase your skills and make history in the process.
