1955 – 2022
The polo community will be grieved to learn of the death of long-time standard bearer Frederic Roy, editor and publisher of The Morning Line.
Frederic lost his battle with Covid Friday morning at 11AM (EST).
A regular on the Florida polo scene for decades, Frederic could be seen either walking or riding his Segway along the sidelines as he distributed his daily publication to spectators.
The Morning Line was enthusiastically received by polo fans, publishing schedules, team rosters and results of the many major tournaments in Florida as well as reporting results from around the world.
His publication was not only available fieldside at most Florida matches, but could be e-mailed by subscription as well.
The French-born 67-year-old shared his passion for the sport unselfishly filling a void that will become only too obvious with his departure.
Au revoir, Frederic, and thank you.
