The Joe Barry Memorial Cup, the second tournament of the 2022 season in Palm Beach, hosted by the International Polo Club, will begin on Sunday January 9.
The competition will be played on single elimination, and will see four teams up to 18 goals battling for the title. The third and fourth placed will decide the Bobby Barry Cup.
The Joe Barry Memorial Cup is a tribute to Joe Barry, the American 9-goaler, born and raised in Truscott, Texas. Among others, he won the US Open (1968, 1970, 1974, 1975, 1977 y 1979), and played the Americas Cup and the Coronation Cup. He was inductee in the Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame, in February 1999. Meanwhile, the Bobby Barry Cup is named after another American 9-goaler, winner of the Butler Handicap, CV Whitney Cup and runner up of the US Open, among others. Bobby Barry passed away unexpectedly on July 2008, in Santa Barbara, while jogging.

The finals Joe Barry Memorial Cup are due on Sunday January 16.
