USPA Gold Cup: Opening win for Cessna against Coca Cola with Nico Pieres back on the saddle

Cessna took a narrow 13-12 win over Coca Cola (who received one goal on handicao) in the opening game of the USPA Gold Cup, the second leg of The Gauntlet of Polo, following the single match that took place on Tuesday March 1, at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, in Wellington, Florida.  Gringo Colombres produced the winning goal in extra chukka.

The tournament sees thirteen teams up to 22 goals, compete.

But the most important news today at IPC was Nico Pieres’ comeback to the polo grounds, after several months out of competition, due to a serious injury he suffered during the last Argentine season. Back then, he had a heavy fall while playing in the Hurlingham Open, that required an important surgery in the United States.

The final of the USPA Gold Cup will be played on Sunday, March 27.
