Awaiting decision today on new date and location
The U.S. Open Polo Championship Final between Valiente and Park Place was due to be played on Sunday 23 April at the National Polo Center-Wellington for the first time ever, but unfortunately due to rain the match has had to be delayed. There will be an announcement at 2pm today (9am ET) regarding the game’s new location and time.
The Final is anticipated to be hard fought with a close contest between two of the strongest polo organisations. 2023 marked Valiente’s debut in The Gauntlet of Polo and they got off to a strong start, winning the opening trophy of the series – The C.V. Whitney Cup. So far in The U.S. Open Polo Championship they are undefeated and with nine time U.S. Open champion, Adolfo Cambiaso, on their side their chances look strong. Park Place are also undefeated and also looking for their first U.S. Open title, they have got close before (runners up in 2021 U.S. Open) and this will be a chance to avenge their C.V. Whitney Cup Semi Final loss to Valiente earlier in The Gauntlet of Polo series.
The U.S. Open Polo Championship Final Teams:
Valiente (22): Bob Jornayvaz (0), Peke Gonzalez (6), Lucas Criado Jr. (6) & Adolfo Cambiaso (10)
Park Place (22): Andrey Borodin (0), Juan Britos (9), Hilario Ulloa (10) & Jason Wates (3)
