On the past weekend the Frankfurt Gold Cup, the fifth station of the German Polo Tour, took place and the spectators witnessed exciting polo matches. For the first time the tournament, which was held at Polo Club Hessen, was part of the tour.
Played in almost eighty countries around the world, whether you favour sun, sand or frozen lakes, polo can be found in any number of destinations. In the southern hemisphere the key polo season is October through to Mid-March, whilst in Europe the summer season opening ‘throw in’ begins late in April and finishes at the end of September.
This weekend will see four teams compete to win £10,000 in the Roodee Challenge Polo Tournament at Chester Racecourse, with play taking place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th September. The four teams taking part are: Stella Artois, MBNA, ITC Luxury Travel and LDF.
