The Argentine Polo Association has released the official Spring 2015 fixtures, which include the major tournaments that make up the Triple Crown.
Semana Santa is the week before Easter and has always been the dates for the Agua Alta tournament hosted by Alberto Ardissone, the creator of the event, and Giorgio Brignone, the owner and founder of the polo club. The site of the festival is located in the private resort of Careyes with many villas and casitas , 2 mature polo fields and a 5 minute beach ride to the Pacific Ocean from the fields.
LAKE WORTH, FL--(Marketwired - April 01, 2015) - The United States Polo Association® (USPA) today announced that the United States was defeated by Chile today 12-11 in overtime in the final of the 10th Federation of International Polo (FIP) World Polo Championship, being held in Santiago, Chile. It was the first defeat for the United States in the tournament.
The United States (Remy Muller, Jesse Bray, Felipe Viana and Patrick Uretz) beat England (George Pearson, Jack Hyde, William Emerson and Pete Webb) 15-9 in the semifinal of the 10th FIP World Polo Championship this afternoon at the Club de Polo y Equitación San Cristóbal in Santiago, Chile.
The semifinals will be played on Tuesday March 31st. At 15:00 on field 2 England will play against USA. The other semifinal will be played at 17:00 on field 1 between Chile and Brazil
Day 3 of the X World Polo Championship was held today. Around 5500 people watched the matches. Chile had to win against Pakistan if they wanted to end on top of Zone A.
The United States defeated Brazil today 9-7 at the 10thFederation of International Polo (FIP) World Polo Championship, being held in Santiago, Chile. The United States has defeated both of its opponents, Argentina and Brazil, to win its bracket and advance to Tuesday’s semi-final round, where they will face England.
Tournament now rescheduled to start on Friday
The FIP World Championships tournament committee and host Club Mundial de Polo were forced to postpone the start of the 14 goal tournament following a violent weather front hitting Central and Northern Chile.
